The Connor Smith signature chef's board
Connor Smith is a hard-working Lakeland chef, shaped by the rhythm of real hotel kitchens. His signature range brings that same practical spirit to Woodshed Creations: substantial, individual boards made by hand to work hard in your kitchen, day after day.
Made for the work
Handmade to order, each board pairs the light grain of white oak with the warmth of mahogany in a solid edge-grain build. Natural differences in colour and figure mean no two boards are alike—each one made with care for years of everyday preparation.
A substantial working board
At around 300 × 400 × 50 mm, it offers a generous prep surface and a reassuringly solid feel, built for the regular rhythm of a busy kitchen.
A working chef’s perspective
Connor’s kitchen career has taken him through Langdale Chase, Lakeside and Rothay Manor; he now works at Waterhead in Ambleside. His practical experience of real hotel service informs the range and the way it is built: made to order, by hand, for the daily rhythm of a working kitchen.
Long-edge engraving
Engraving is positioned along the long edge and planned before assembly, for a clean finish that keeps the working surface clear.
A board for cooks and chefs
For home cooks, working chefs or someone setting up a new kitchen, a substantial board makes a thoughtful gift. Each one is made to order, with its own natural grain and character.
White oak and mahogany harmony
White oak and mahogany bring contrasting light and deep tones to the edge-grain pattern. Because each board is made individually, the grain and colour will vary from piece to piece.
Engraving, considered
The engraving is planned into the long edge before assembly, where it sits neatly out of the way of the working surface.
